Recovery has been having a lot of conversations about their plan; for a lot of those, they expect avionics will do something. Until things get more fleshed out and we can make specific issues, this is a place to track information about the avionics integration with the recovery system.

Recovery meeting 2022/10/05

  • Tried (kinda) got a guarantee that if the nosecone is ejected, it will be entirely passive - no electronics in nosecone.
  • Reefing cutters will be totally independent of avionics systems (will support development)
  • RCS
    • Talk about a 2 axis RCS control system, where the pitch control is entirely pre-calculated.
  • Will get harder confirmation, but it looks like there are only 4 signals that need to be sent to recovery
    • deploy air brakes
    • jettison nosecone (!)
    • deploy drogue-pilots
    • release drogue-pilots, deploying mains
