Combine commands into one API call

This will require some good refactoring. Maybe we should pass through all the commands and combine them into one command if necessary, marking the last one as the one that should run, and the previous ones as "COMBINED", or something like that. Because if there is only one API call, it does not make sense to "run/finish" each individual command.

Try to use the PATCH endpoint for an item.
