Agenda
🟢 Here is the agenda for this meeting
[…] Use the agenda above […]
Would anyone like to add to or change any items on the agenda?
OK, let's get started with the WordPress Community news.
WordPress Community
🟢 WordPress Core news
Important for the Hosting people:
It seems like it there is support was added in GD 2.3.2. ImageMagick should support it. Moreover, looks like PHP 8.3 has that version by default.
🟢 WordPress Community news
If you are interested: Apply to be a Mentee, or Apply to be a Mentor.
Ok, let's move on to Hosting Team time.
Hosting Team Time!
🟢 WordPress 6.6 Server Compatibility
We've reviewed the major release WordPress version compatibility post. The post went live, and we pinned it to the top of make.wordpress.org/hosting. You are welcome to continue contributing by adding comments to the post!
Hosting Team To-Do
🟢 Hosting / Test badges
Are "bots" and their maintainers Test contributors? Some days ago we opened a discussion: #241. We started now to reach out to the core test team and invited them to join the discussions.
Next Steps:
🟢 Hosting Directory Plugin
The work slowed down after WordCamp Europe, but we continue to strive for a first documentation on how the plugin should look and work like. Once we have some clearer ideas on how to continue, we can also start discussions about resources and the team. We already started to layout some ground work on how it might work:

🟢 WordPress US Contributor Day
WordCamp US is just a two weeks out now. Who is planning to attend the WordCamp and the Contributor Day?
Are you also planning to join the Hosting Table?
We need to figure out what we want to work on during the contributor day, but it will most likely be around the hosting directory, the Hosting Tests and maybe some early preparations for WP 6.7. So far we have Jason and Lucas volunteering on the table.
Any other upcoming WordCamp with Contributor Days?
🟢 Sustainability page in the Handbook
The #sustainability team published their teams roadmap for 2024 just yesterday: WP Sustainability Team Roadmap 2024
This roadmap includes guidelines for making WordPress websites more sustainable where we as the hosting team can play a huge role by providing a sustainable hosting infrastructure to all customers.
Surely, the simplest one is to use clean energy, and somehow be able to document it and make it accessible, with reports or whatever.
Apart from this, which is the most obvious thing, what documentation do you think we should suggest to suppliers to implement progressively?
🟩 Open Floor
Ok, if nothing else, let's move on to the Open Floor. You are welcome to bring any topic up for discussion at this time.
