Hello,

It's an open discussion about ARM support for seafile package. Note that this include ARMv7 and ARMv8.

ARM build for seafile (available here https://github.com/haiwen/seafile-rpi/releases) is not really maintained and it impact the yunohost package as we can't upgrade until the arm package are updated. Note that the last arm package is on version 9 and the official release is on version 11 so we have currently 2 major late.

So my question is mainly how many people use this app on ARMv7 or ARMv8. And to discuss how we can manage this in long term.

Some solution that I thought:

  • Make a specific branch for Arm, so we can update the master branch and maybe one day update the Arm build when an update are available.
  • Work with the upstream community to help to release a newer build. If someone is interested there are already some discussion here: Preliminary work for Seafile 10.0 haiwen/seafile-rpi#122
  • Just drop completely the support for ARM arch (if not a lot of people use it).

Any suggestion or help about this is welcome
