Is it possible to fit continuous beta item response models? The documentation for brm-Methods demonstrates simulation and model fitting for discretized beta item response models, and it is clear how to simulate continuous bounded beta item response models, but I seem to be unable to fit continuous beta item response models.

It is currently not possible. In principle, it is not too difficult to extend xxirt to continuous responses by allowing continuous densities. This feature is still on my to-do list. Maybe I will find some time for this in the next half year.
