Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
At the moment I think that an rdate value with a period would not work completely. may be worth checking other rdate values to be sure they also work too.

Example:

       RDATE;VALUE=PERIOD:19960403T020000Z/19960403T040000Z,
        19960404T010000Z/PT3H
