IDE not requesting for schema when schema refresh button is clicked

Title is pretty descriptive. Why would the IDE skip requesting the schema at all, and just going straight into the reducing step without even requesting the server for it?
The reducing step then receives null for the schemaResponse field.

I have faced the same problem. A workaround for this is to export your project as a json file, delete the project and import the project again.
