First - very much like this! Am enjoying integrating these on some zero's into my home, no real problems at all (apart from gaps in my knowledge!).
However, would you accept a PR that adds a utc version of the timestamp to the MQTT mesage payload?
i.e. adding 'date --iso-8601=seconds -u' to the message and (say) a property of timestampUtc (leaving the existing one unchanged).
