Playback restarts a few times randomly (FF) #39
Comments
Same here. Furthermore, playing frequently stops when the player jumps to the next video/song and seems stuck (displays loading animation + red play button on the center) and doesn't play unless I actually press play or reload the page. Firefox 88.0b5 (64-bit) Windows 10 The extension shows some errors so let me know if I can be of any help trying to solve this: Edit: Like @itsfarseen I also have the extensions stylus and sponsorblock installed (will try disabling those) |
Same here, I'm getting red play button sometimes and the confirmation dialog "Continue watching?". I'm using ublock origin too. And the two things I mentioned didn't happen before install youtube-audio |
@zubus does it happen after like 15 minutes later or does it happen during the first minute of the playback? |
@itsfarseen after like 15 minutes as you said, but this did not happend before to me |
I see. It happens to me regularly, even without the extension. |
With audio mode disabled, It does not happen for me. |

Last commit from 2020 |
Firefox version: 87.0
OS: Arch Linux
I have been facing this problem for quite a while. Like an year or so.
I haven't been able to reliably reproduce the problem. It happens quite frequently and randomly.
Symptoms:
The buffer suddenly becomes empty, even if the buffer was fully loaded a moment ago.
Then playback starts buffering.
Then sometimes playback continues, sometimes playback restarts from beginning.
And sometimes, instead of restarting, playback resumes with video.
Other extensions installed:
If other people who are having this problem share any info they have, we could try to find what's common in all of these configurations.
