Build vs. dev mode difference

Hi, I am testing out a simple integration that would run the built image in k8s and use config map syntax from https://camel.apache.org/manual/using-propertyplaceholder.html to reference them.

Integration:

application.properties include

camel.kubernetes-config.mount-path-configmaps=/etc/camel/myconfig/
camel.kubernetes-config.client-enabled=false

Now when running it in devmode it correctly returns the default (since there is no config map)

When building the image and running it on Minikube on my local

I am using the default build.sh script
What is the difference? Why doesnt the built image output the default?

Just found #1430 so it is probably a bug.

Yes. It's a bug in Camel 4.8.0

Isnt it supposed to be fixed with https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-21316 though?

I tried specifying camel.jbang.version=4.8.1 in application.properties but the result is the same.

Upgrading to karavan and devmode image 4.8.1. does fix the issue.

camel.jbang.version=4.8.1 works in VS Code
for Web Application devmode container should be created and configured
