Matter virtual contact sensor

I’m trying to create a garage door opener and I got stuck on finding a way to update the state of a virtual contact sensor which will be used to show if the doors are open or closed. I was thinking of cloning the state of a relay or updating the state based on a switch but I am kinda of run out of ideas as nothing is changing the state of a sensor. I would be happy if someone can put me on the right track.

Let's start with Tasmota state first. How do yiu read the state of the sensor? Is it configured as a Switch?

Then just use the Contact Sensor Matter type.

What do you mean, sorry? Separate sensor?

Matter has a native Contact Sensor type.

This is exactly what I did. However, the switch is not updating the contact sensor state.

It is a general rule with Tasmota counting has to begin with "1" for everything.
It may work ignoring this.... So your switch number with "10" is invalid. It has to be "1"

Hi, I just found some time to test this and it is still the same. The switch does not report state-to-matter set-up as a contact sensor. Switch 1 as a contact 1 in matter. It is reporting state change in the HA and logs but not in matter.

The easiest way I think is to allow the contact sensor to use not only a switch but also a relay for example to read the state
