Include build script in package.json for debugging?

I realize that any PRs can't be directly merged (per the contributing doc, but I would love to be able to provide some ideas for how to handle #15

One challenge I have, though, is that there is no build script included in the package.json (probably because this is part of a monorepo internally at Atlassian?). Would it be possible to add that to make it easier to debug and provide suggestions on where things might be fixed for open issues?
