Request:Convert to and from to org-mode markup format

I think it makes more sense to convert the xml flile to org-mode markup and back again. Org supports encoding of all of the XML and all of the features (e.g. checkboxes/tags etc) that are in the source.

Interesting. While there is an org-to-markdown, is there a way to go markdown-to-org without using an external application (like http://pandoc.org/)?

Not sure, but my idea was to support native org, at full resolution rather than have to downsample to markdown files.
