Automatic On and Off at Sunset and Sunrise

I have been using automation to call the services manually as needed for sunset and sunrise in my home however it would be far easier if the choice existed inside adaptive lighting to have an Automatic Off period for a configurable state of sun elevation with perhaps an offset value that gets used for cloudy and or rainy weathers ( as usually, it can be darker outside)

This can then be setup per room and have lights automatically turn off lights during sunrise if desired.
It can also be interrogated into sleep mode service so at some time of the night sleep mode can automatically turn on for rooms that have this enabled.

Just some thoughts to help make less work of custom automation for basic lighting when there are plugins like this which could be an All in one solution and just modified there.

IMO there's already too many config options as it is. Is it not enough to be able to add an automation trigger from hass when the sun rises/sets?

Adaptive-lighting calls get_astral_location() with no arguments. If we added a config option to include elevation, would that work for you?

We already considered weather types in another issue awhile back, while it seemed promising it didn't affect the overall color temperature of the light in any significant way. See #164 (comment)

Thatsq sounds about right, the hass does already for some time now have home location taking elevation which when set by user on initial or post setup gives you the values you speak of for sun calculations. This is how it's possible to male automation using the numeric_state of sun that is more accurate thrb just time of day and location alone.

So yes if adaptive lighing could leverage this it would make its automation service overall more reliable in that sense of getting a more accurate sun position for everyone.

Ah see I wasn't planning on using it to effect colour rather it know its going to be dark overall and maybe light the home up a wee bit on rooms with the option enabled for say rooms where it already lacks good sun light as is case with hallways
