Next release, 1.2.10 will be considered as "Long Time Stable". The current CI build is the release candidate 1. Please report any issues. Final release of 1.2.10 is soon to follow. |

Version 1.2.11 was released in May 2022. It also contains minor extensions and bug fixes, none very important (see the release notes). It can effectively also be considered LTS (I use the term more informally than e.g. Ubunto). Recently, it @seanyoung pointed out a problem caused by the questionable feature of removing intro- and ending sequences identical to the repeat. This "questionable feature" was recently removed (#224). This calls for a new release, probably called 1.2.12, but I do not consider it really urgent. |

This project was started some five and a half years ago. (Actually, I have been working on a predecessor project, IrpMaster, which "donated" some ideas and code, so in a sense the project is older than that.)
Now, I think that the goals I had then have been reached. In this sense, the project can be considered as mature and "finished", although not frozen.
Of course, bug reports, -fixes, new protocols, etc, are welcome as always. My plan is to collect minor improvements, bug fixes, and additional protocols, and likely to publish a new version once or twice every year.
Open issues:
long
data type, which essentially gives 63 useful bits. Work has started on allowing unlimited length parameters using Java'sbigInteger
, Eliminate Long restrictions for protocol parameters #38. Although I am convinced of the feasibility, it is unlikely that I will ever complete this task. There are two projects that directly extend the present one:
In addition to these, IrpTransmogrifier is presently used in the projects:
