Hi, our team is building the implementation for the bounty 'No-loss Token LaunchPad'. While developing a DApp we are having some issues regarding the Bifrost's DeFi model and need some technical support from the technical team.

Here are some questions that we're glad to be asking and hope to receive your answer:

1. Why are there differences in the exchange rate of vToken/Native tokens when minting versus when swapping?
2. How long do the farming pools usually last? How can I check the pool expiration date programmatically?

To answer your questions:

Why are there differences in the exchange rate of vToken/Native tokens when minting versus when swapping?

When you mint, you are following the exchange rate vToken/Native based on the yield bearing formula (https://docs.bifrost.io/for-builders/liquid-staking-slp/vdot#what-is-vdot). Basically, the longer you hold vToken, the more Native you get back after (so your yield is built in). This is so that you can participate in DeFi protocol because rebasing token will cause accounting issue. Now why swapping has different exchange rate, simple, it's market rate. Market fluctuates. The benefit of vToken is you can exit your position immediately instead of waiting for 28 days with nomination pools (for DOT, other time period for ETH or other tokens). So you sell your vToken for Native with the DEX, and voila. But with AMM DEX, when more people sell, or more people buy, the price fluctuates, exactly how DEX works.

How long do the farming pools usually last? How can I check the pool expiration date programmatically?

Best you don't rely on this YET. Just rely on native yield for now.

My question back to you is, what vToken you are looking at? we have many different options.

To clarify our vision, we're aimed at building a launchpad where the project creator is enabled to withdraw fund on a regular basis (says for example weekly or monthly). The issue arising from this is, once the creator withdraw fund, it would hurt the compound interest generated by vToken yield. So in order to compensate for that loss, we're looking to use the locked vTokens, which are sitting idle, to provide liquidity for bifrost and other platforms to gain extra income. But raises a few concerns:

1. We want the launchpad to be multi-pool, which essentially means supporting as many vTokens as possible. But for now we're looking at vDot. The problem is that our the project's durations might not match that with farming pools, plus farming pools on bifrost appears to have ambiguous duration .
2. Another concern is that, as the old Bifrost's launchpad grant mentioned the 'fully refundable'' feature, we see that as a potential unique selling point of our launchpad. But to implement that is a conflict with the ability for creator to withdraw fund regularly; as the yield from vToken had been withdrawn by the creator, the investor cannot get it back.

Liquidity pool is more stable. But you need 2 tokens eh (DOT-vDOT). Or You can stake that again into a Lending pool like Hydration or whichever will be supported on one of the SLPx chain (manta, moonbeam, soon base arbitrum, etc.)

i guess this wasn't clear, "fully refundable" for the principal amount before vToken mint (original DOT for example). You can try to get more yield with other defi protocols. Token creator can withdraw the yield in the form of vDOT and sell it for DOT; this is because the investor will withdraw out the same amount of DOT as when they started.

Bro, don't take the idea in the notion as the bible. Build things that make sense in reality. Don't care what the notion says.
