Committ borde heta begå istället för förbinda.

Commit har ju flera betydelser. Googlar man på define:commit så får man följande betydelser (förkortat):

perpetrate or carry out (a mistake, crime, or immoral act).
"he committed an uncharacteristic error"
pledge or bind (a person or an organization) to a certain course or policy.
"they were reluctant to commit themselves to an opinion"
transfer something to (a state or place where it can be kept or preserved).
"he composed a letter but didn't commit it to paper"

Jag tänker på commit mer i betydelsen att överlämna/överföra något än att begå eller lova något men jag verkar vara i minoritet…
