Options to change the look of a trail image.

Some times the image used for trails is a little hard for me to determine the direction when I'm gliding etc. It would be nice for there to be some options to adjust the trail marker such as:

Custom image for the arrow
Alter spacing between arrow
Keep the trail size the same regardless of distance to the trail - with options to alter the scaling
Transparency
Outside Glow
Change image color (color blind mode?)
