The loading animation continues to play endlessly

The page transition works fine in all my pages but the little animated .gif keeps on playing endlessly overlaying my content. I changed the timeout to true but no luck.

Apparently this is a problem relating to the latest version of jQuery. I installed jQuery 2.1 and the problem seems to go away. Now the issue I am having is that the loading svg appears almost at the end of the slide animation and continues until everything loads. This is what I want it to do, but the problem is that the slide is going away too early.
