Why has there been no new release in 4 years despite updates?

First of all, thank you for maintaining this project! I noticed that the last release was made 4 years ago, yet there have been some updates in the repository, with the most recent commit being 11 months ago.

I'm curious if there are any plans for a new release or if the project is considered feature-complete. If there are any blockers or specific reasons for not releasing a new version, I would appreciate any insights.

Would you recommend using the latest commits directly, or is there an alternative approach for those who want more recent changes?
