Right now, we have two steps to match the depreciation records with EIA plant-parts:

  • the fuzzy string name matching
  • manual overrides

Suggestion here is to add a middle step (or possibly a first step):

  • if there is only one depreciation record, it should almost certainly be linked to the plant in EIA (the non-retired, owned portion of the plant).
