Unable to Send/Receive Messages to Channel that is Being Viewed

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enter a channel
2. Try to type something
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
An echo copy of the message sent to the channel.  On the other side, users
should be able to see what I sent.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
IRCm - SVN36
IPod Touch 1.1.4 (Jailbroken)

Please provide any additional information below.

Incoming messages do not appear in the channel window either.  They only
appear as raw messages in the status window.
