Apple sign-in page pop-up just shows "about:blank"

When I press sign in with Apple, a window pops up - which would presumably load the apple log in page in order to link my account - however instead of loading the apple sign in page, it just shows a blank window with the URL about:blank. Furthermore, when you try and close the window, it endlesssly reopens itself until you close the entire Cider application. Hope this isn't just a me problem, but if it is, some guidance would be great please!
