As a national repository network I would like to track changes over time in information about the volume of data (categorised by content type) stored in repositories, in order to estimate how this volume will increase in the future #17
Comments
This was transposed from an earlier requirements document and needs to be expressed more clearly as a user-story. Who is the actor, and what is their purpose? |
As a national repository network I would like to track changes over time of the information stored in the registry in order to estimate of what content will increase in the future. |
What is the estimate to be used for? Is this because of a concern about the volume of data to be stored? |
Yes. if I can see changing in research data in other countries, I think it could be used to estimate the volume of research data in future. |
ah - you mean the volume of information stored in the repositories, not in the registry? So, perhaps: "As a national repository network I would like to track changes over time of information about the volume of data stored in repositories, in order to estimate how this volume will increase in the future." Is that an accurate description? |
I thought it would be valuable to know the amount of increase by content type. But I think your description is more direct. |
How about this? "As a national repository network I would like to track changes over time in information about the volume of data (categorised by content type) stored in repositories, in order to estimate how this volume will increase in the future." |
thanks. |
Changing the title of this user story as discussed above |
This could be a long-term goal, so putting into the "deferred" category. The COAR vocabulary on "resource type" could be useful here. |
