On the main events map, reverse geo coding is used to determine the user's country (and to create the "list all events in COUNTRY" button). For logged-in users, the country in the user's profile should be used directly:

  • One less geo-coding request per view,
  • Users are shown the correct country (e.g., Irish users mistakenly shown the UK landing page).

  • another scenario is checking the activities of your original country while traveling outside it
