Infinitely Catchable Ghost Marowak at the Pokémon Tower #4

Even if Poké Balls and money are sparse in this game, I caught the Marowak in the Pokémon Tower with a few I could buy, and the battle ended with the Player going back up one tile after that event, with the obligation to battle Marowak once more. I didn't catch another Marowak, but I had to battle her once more (which was already complicated enough at the time).

Maybe this event should be completed whether the Pokémon is caught or defeated, instead of only completed when it's defeated? Marowak is a wild Pokémon after all, and nothing prevents a Player from catching it instead of defeating it.

Unfortunately I don't have a save leading to that moment in the story, but this problem can be easily replicated.
