velociraptr is superseded by the paleobioDB package, I believe, but we should look into some of these others.

The IPPP package is maintained by me. It contains utility functions to simulate point processes that can be used for simulation studies in a paleontological context (e.g., with the StratPal package, see the p3 function therein)
Feel free to add it to the task view. I'll renovate it when I find the time, and add explanatory vignettes.
