This wiki explains what Gamma is, and also what it isn't. The goal of Gamma is to replace beta-account and account.

What Gamma is:

• Gamma is an authentication application:
  • Gamma supports OAuth 2.0 authentication for IT services.
  • Gamma uses Chalmers services to authenticate a users' identity.
• Gamma is also a authorisation application:
  • Gamma, much like a LDAP service, stores users, groups and relationships between them. Users are IT students, groups are for example digIT. The relationships between them will be for example a user who is part of digIT and is a chairman there.

What Gamma isn't:

• Gamma isn't a permission service. Gamma supplies users, groups and relationships. The permissions for a users / group within a given service is up the service itself.
