The duckyPad configurator v0.13.3 resizes (or rescales) itself during "Run this script!" button action and after clicking OK on on the warning pop-up asking if you trust the script to execute it.
It is best demonstrated step-by-step with screenshots:
Recreating
Open duckyPad configurator and connect it to the duckyPad. Note the size of the configurator window in relation to the 'ruler' scale below:
Select an existing or create a temporary profile, give a duckyPad key a name, then create a quick, harmless script, such as a single SHIFT command.
Press the "Run this script!" button, and acknowledge the pop-up warning window:
After pressing OK, and the script is finished running, the main duckyPad configurator window has now been resized or rescaled. Note the size of this configurator window in relation to the same 'ruler' image scale used previously:
I acknowledge that this issue could be with my own system and setup!
If seen a few scaling issues with some older programs that can't handle a 3840x2160 or larger display. In case this isn't something going on with the duckyPad configurator, a solution or workaround is detailed below:
Workaround/Solution
Exit the duckyPad configurator. Locate the shortcut to the duckypad_config.exe file. I believe mine was created during the software installation, and I chose to have them placed on my desktop. You may also right-click the duckyPad configurator executable itself. Mine is located here: "C:\Program Files\DuckyPad\Config\duckypad_config.exe"
Right-click on the duckyPad configurator shortcut icon and select 'Properties' from the context menu.
In the following window, choose the 'Compatibility' tab.
On that tab, click the "Change high DPI settings" button seen here:
In the following window, check the 'Override high DPI scaling behavior' checkbox, and be sure that 'Application' is selected in the dropdown immediately below:
Click 'OK' twice.
Note on Font
The font now shown for duckyPad is different from the one used previous to changing the scaling options.
I have no idea why that would be, but maybe the font used was unable to be scaled by the application, or perhaps the font used by the application shows strangely when scaled. Looks ok to me, I guess, but thought it was worth mentioning.
Demonstration of Workaround/Solution
Open duckyPad configurator and connect it to the duckyPad as before. Follow the same step of selecting an existing profile or create a temporary profile, then give a duckyPad key a name, and then create a quick, harmless script, such as a single SHIFT command. Just as above, press the "Run this script!" button, and acknowledge the pop-up warning window.
The duckyPad Configurator window remains the same size as it was when started, and has not been resized/rescaled.
Conclusion
I am not well-versed enough in GUI design or Windows scaling function to really understand what is going on. The reason I thought to file this here was because it seems to happen after the warning popup is acknowledged.
Of course, the duckyPad configurator could be just fine and working as intended, and this is Windows fault.
And, naturally, it also could be my system and setup and I've wasted everyone's time by submitting this. Please accept my apologies if this turns out to be the case.
Thank you for your kind attention to this small matter, and I look forward to seeing the replies and input from the community. Cheers!
