BRouter (offline) database stores a lot of data like tunnels, road surface, number of lanes and more.

We can discuss here what data you would like displayed on Cruiser screens or diagrams.

Initially, I was happy that mini_roundabout could be handled somehow. But it's in the highway section and not junction. So rather useless for navigation? Maybe only as simplified information such as "in 100 m, cross the roundabout" without providing detailed instructions?

I don't really like these mini roundabouts. Often they are not "mini" at all, and going straight is not included in the navigation instructions.

I would like to see traffic signals in the planning because I want to avoid them.
Traffic lanes or a lane assistant, if possible, would be nice.

I'm afraid these items are only information contained in the routes returned by BRouter and cannot be included in planning.

Maybe it would be useful, for example, to have information about traffic_calming (Osmand warns about this, as well as about pedestrian crossings). As well railway = level_crossing would be good to know. Especially when crossing:barrier = no.

I would LOVE to have unpaved sections of a route somehow highlighted - f.e. with a brownish color in the route diagram (or even with differently colored route sections during navigation)...

Road quality
Tunnel
Traffic
Toll routes
extra winding sections of the route

Tunnel and toll are very interesting.

Tunnel can be used to switch map aspect and brightness.

I started today already with the idea in a single section, haven't seen this discussion here but Emux friendly advises

I'd like to see (on demand) the tracktype;0000887965 gradiation (which informs me about the offroad track "quality" and estimated level of difficulty.

@emux: is it possible on demand or do you have to "burn" it permanently into a map? - I assume it's only possible as overlay - or?

This data comes from the route calculation, so we can display it on the map as overlay.

Probably as symbols or even as a multi-colored route line like BRouter website.

Multicolored route if-only on demand - rather not - trust me I did this in the past. Since we talk about many off-road tracks the map becomes very colorful and confusing. And then, the smaller the line is depending on the surrounding light the more worse it's to differentiate the colors and if you make the lines wider....well...
Better something like a small letter next or directly on the track by like "grade 5" or just "g5"(this is the best - smart simple and informative) - like shown here in this screenshot the river or road letters which are directly on the element (red circles) and the blue circle is an example how it can be

Note that map and route are different things:

• Map: what map displays depends on its data and render theme.

• Route: this data comes from the calculated route (for the line path)
  and we discuss here what and how to display them.

Keep map design layer settings

I recognized when you switch between a map design, Cruiser does not keep the settings in the layer. If I switch back, all my settings are gone. Can you program Cruiser to keep each setting per layer?

This was asked before, but it's a bit difficult to manage.

For example Biker / Motorider and OpenAndroMaps Elevate or Freizeitkarte themes have completely different map layers.
Switching between the themes while remembering their selected layers is complicated.

I need to think how this could be done efficiently. 🙂

Yes, unfortunately I recognized this. Some of the layer selections I do like, but I don't like their map design and vice versa.
On of my desired map designs is: fck-outdoor-contrast (good to see on the daylight) but then I miss some poi layers I'd like to have.
really not easy.
