You may ask in the the official double commander forums at http://doublecmd.sourceforge.net/forum/, I believe someone will guide you through it.

If successful please consider updating the build instructions or even better, writing a build script for this repository for the benefit of the next person.

It would be great if you can create a PR for instructions (in Readme.md) on how to build under MacOS, perhaps even provide some build fixes if needed.
As you can see this repository is constantly rebased upon the upstream repository in sourceforge, so it's easier to track changes.
