Deploy to maven central?

If I go to

https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.eclipse.lemminx/org.eclipse.lemminx/0.28.0

it says:

Note: this artifact is located at Eclipse Releases repository (https://repo.eclipse.org/content/groups/releases/)

is there any reason to not deploy it to maven-central directly? This is usually more accessible (e.g. no additional repositories need to be configured).

The current reason is that going to Maven Central requires significantly more work (register to Sonatype, set up further signatures...) than what has been necessary for success so far.
But anyone willing to do the extra work would be welcome to do so.
