Would it be possible to transfer .efkefc to .efkproj?

Hello, I would like to ask if it is possible to transfer .efkefc to .efkproj and keep the original settings intact. Currently, I have to downgrade the .efkefc file to .efkproj such as v1.53e to v1.43, but this causes some settings to be lost, such as something use the efkmat settings and the turbulence settings. The reason I want to convert to .efkproj is that I need to edit the file with a text editor by using Sublime Text.

Could you describe more specifically, please? Because once I used v1.53e to save anything is becoming a .efkefc file even though the file was saved as a .efkproj.
What if I used v1.43 to open a file was made by v1.53e, it lose some information that only in v.1.53e.
