Synaptic touchpads on Windows have a feature called Edge Motion. It causes the cursor to keep moving when the user reaches the edge of their touchpad. In Elementary, this would introduce a great solution to the touchpad speed vs. accuracy tradeoff, especially given that the maximum touchpad speed is limited by upstream (see #39).
I've got two of my friends (previously Windows users) to install Elementary, and both of them said they missed this feature.
(Somewhat related terms are Touchpad Momentum and Touchpad Inertia. Mentioning them just for the search engine.)
