The data-plane selector is easy to overlook given it is defaulted to the public, GCP data-plane option. This can result in entities created in the default, public data-plane by accident, which can particularly be a pain for users with private data-planes. An arrow-like, end icon should be added to the data-plane selector to communicate that the field is interactive.

Below are the base requirements for this feature:

  • Add an arrow-like, end icon to the data-plane selector.

Additional Comments

  • It should be noted that the team has discussed creating an admin setting that allows a user to specify what the default data-plane should be for a given tenant. This idea has not been revisited since the initial discussion.
