Notice in this item's detailed view, we're not using the given space to its full potential. Instead we make the user click on something ("Show more") that reveals nothing (at least for the comment).
Before clicking "Show more" on the description and comment:

I'd say that browsers can do a much better job to compress content that takes more than the visible area of the screen: scrollbars.
Let's just have a simply input field for the description without the "Show more" option, pleeeeeease! It is really annoying, having to click something to view the full description even though I'm already IN the detailed view.
If the description exceeds the the space left on the screen, let's just use scroll to reveal the rest. The compromise we've opted-in for is handling ALL scenarios badly that just have a small description.
