Reasonably Large Files Don't Index Properly

I have a 1300 line file. it references similarly large files in it.

It takes like 10 seconds to find my auth() function which is in a different file. which wouldn't be an issue except, every time i save the file. it goes back to loading... it's kind of annoying.
