Sync the same folder to multiple destinations

First of all, very awesome tool. Great job devs!

Now, instead of using this just as a syncing mechanism, i want to use it as a backup tool too. And how it's not pretty smart to have a single backup, I decided to sync to both a Gitlab Repo and a Github Repo.

1. Github is the main one, the strategy is "Always merge local changes with changes from other browsers". This is the profile which I use between browsers.
2. On my main browser, I have a second profile (a Gitlab repo this time), syncing the same bookmark folder and using the strategy to "Always upload local changes and undo changes from other browsers".

As far as I can tell, it should work. First profile is push/pull, keeping everything up to date everywhere and the second one is push only, backing up my bookmarks in a secondary place. I don't think this setup could give me issues with corruption and duplicates. :-?

Still, better to ask the people who built this. Is what I'm doing safe? Do you have a better idea?

You're on the right track: using the Git backend is a good strategy to get backups for free. In general floccus alone isn't suited for backups I would say, as sync is not a backup, in the case of git it could be argued that the commits are a way to have checkpoint backups. I would still have a backup mechanism for the remote git repos, to be safe against corruption or unintended wiping of the repo (should be 0 chances of that happening, but better safe than sorry).

Hi man! Yea, another backup for the git repos would be recommended, but as I don't consider my bookmarks super vital it's fine for now I think.

What I wanted to confirm with in my post was if the app's sync strategies function as I think they do, first push/pull and the other one push only, and the possibility of my setup causing weird duplicate entries in the bookmarks (or other bugs)

Yes, merge sync makes sense for syncing between browsers. And if you just want to backup, push sync makes sense, too. If you're used to git, push and pull is the same metaphor there. Your setup shouldn't cause any issues, multiple sync targets are expressly supported. Floccus may have the odd bug still, but should error out before it will disrupt your bookmarks. Duplicates should not happen at all anymore, unless you are using floccus in parallel with eg. firefox's built-in sync, that has caused some people duplicates in the past.
