Pressing my leader key more than two times doesn't open whichkey

Space is my leader key.

While in normal mode, pressing leader once will open whichkey, and when i press my leader key, it closes it. Pressing it any more times does nothing.

Is there a way to make whichkey always pop up when I press space in normal mode?
