For whatever reason, I can't get any of the built in reports to display or print in color.

What server do you connect to? If you connect to a TFS/VSTS server - you get different workitems: tasks, PBIs, bugs. These can be printed in different colors.

VSTS. You can see that it doesn't matter what type of work item it is, as there are two different ones in the screenshot, nothing is coming out in color.

Try with the "Scrum Detailed Report". It has for sure different colors depending on work-item type. I'm thinking if your printer setup could cause the missing colors...

No luck, and I double checked that the printer is set to default on color, not B&W.

Here's what I get. I have PBIs, tasks, and bugs (I have blurred the image not to reveal my private stuff):

I don't know what I'm doing wrong then. All the default templates don't show up in color. What kind of troubleshooting/debug/logs can I do/provide to try and figure this out?

You could try another PC, just to verify that colors are shown there. Then look at the implementation using these classes: XpsDocument and DocumentViewer

Confirmed it also shows in B&W on another one of my machines. :(

I am having the same issue.

Is was able to get the backlog items to print in color (light blue), but features are not printing in color.

I am not able to reproduce this with my Azure DevOps backlog. I have queries that have a mix of Stories and bugs. The Stories default to B&W and the Bugs are Red.
