Is your grid fine enough to resolve frequencies up to 6 Hz? Did you follow the instructions in Section 4.4 of the user's guide? |

I need a Frequency range of 0.1 Hz to 5 Hz, so based on output I have minVs/h=40.755 and by dividing this by fmax I need(5Hz) I have ppw=8. Is this correct? I set f0 = freq = 6 Hz in the source command because the frequency of this earthquake is 6 Hz(I found fc=6 on paper, which relates to earthquake frequency, not calculated based on the SW4 manual). |

@andersp I used C6SmoothBump and VerySmoothBump, which generate velocity since both start and end at zero. Thank you for your suggestion, I will try to use Gaussian time function. |

Hi,
Synthetic and recorded velocity spectrum amplitudes differ by a factor of 100 at soil sites. I used point source for an small (Mw~3.4) earthquake(source x=3200 y=38157 z=14500 strike=313 rake=32 dip=30 m0=3.05492e+14 type=VerySmoothBump freq=6 t0=3
prefilter fc2=6.0 type=lowpass passes=2 order=2)
I would appreciate it if someone could help me identify the reason for this frequency gap.
