Trying to set up RSS for eventnews just how it's done wit the news extension is exactly how we tried it when reporting this issue ... and it did not work, therefore this self-contained issue report.

Also, it'd be great to mention in the eventnews manual that it supports RSS and ICS the same way as the news extention.

But anyways, this issue report still holds: We cannot make eventnews provide RSS and ICS.

Using

• TYPO3 10.4.9
• news 8.5.0
• eventnews 4.0.0

In our installation, news RSS feeds are set up according to RSS feed by TypoScript.

In our TYPO3 template, we have included news and eventnews typoscripts.

We have added to a naked TYPO3 page the ext:news plugin and configured it with the Month view [News->month]

We set up a Startingpoint containing both "plain news" and "event news".

Plain news items, i.e. news items which are NOT marked as is_event will get listed (<item>...</item>) in the RSS feed when visiting http://www.example.com/news?type=9818 .

But if a news item IS marked as is_event, then it will not be listed in the RSS feed.

That's the weird part: Setting a news item to is_event makes it disappear in the RSS feed.

I can confirm that news marked as is_event makes the items in RSS feed disappear :-(

If you put this: eventRestriction = {$plugin.tx_news.rss.kalender.eventRestriction} in the typoscript for the events - it shows the items even the news are marked as is_event
