Our current statsd configuration for taskbroker only supports IP hosts. We should also support host names for ease of use in the sandbox. We should also retain the ability to use an IP address.

  • If a stats_host cannot be parsed as an IP assume it is DNS
  • split the hostname on : to derive the host and port.
