Meta Keys in tmux have a strange behaviour

Hi, Loving ghostty so far but I have a small issue and not sure where to start with the research why this is happening.
I have for example this tmux configuration:

bind-key -n M-n new-window -c "#{pane_current_path}"
bind-key -n M-Left select-pane -L
bind-key -n M-Right select-pane -R
bind-key -n M-Up select-pane -U
bind-key -n M-Down select-pane -D

Version: 1.0.1
OS: Mac OS 15.2

when pressing M-n it results in a ˜ character, M-Up and Down are working as expected but M-Right and M-Left are not working.
What can I do to debug and also change this behaviour?

thanks for this hint! this solves a few of my issues.
The only ones still not working are:

bind-key -n M-Left select-pane -L
bind-key -n M-Right select-pane -R

I can confirm, some of the meta-bindings do work, but M-arrow keys are just ignored

Try adding

keybind = alt+left=unbind
keybind = alt+right=unbind

to your config.

Found this via #5580 I found 5bb2c62. I use M-<arrow key> extensively in TUI Emacs and have been noticing for awhile now that while <up> and <down> worked as expected but <left> and <right> did not. I'm not sure why the arrow key handling is different between the directions but this fixed the issue for me.

If it fixes it for you it's probably worth chiming in on #2363 as well.
