Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park (STEP)- GNDEC, Ludhiana is a unique & dynamic entity promoted jointly by Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College and the Dept. of Science & Technology. Govt. of India, to encourage Entrepreneurship amongst Science & Technology students by providing space, environment & infrastructure for creative thinking, innovation, product and venture development for Science & Technology Entrepreneurs. It also facilitates live linkages between Educational Institutions of academic excellence on the one hand and Industry on the other. STEP-Ludhiana was one of the first 6 STEPs established in the country and became operational in the year 1987. It is spread over an area of 6 acres and apart from its Administration Block & Workshop; a working area has been set apart for prospective entrepreneurs.
Nankana Sahib Public School, (10th & +2 students), Gilla, Ludhiana visited the STEP GNDEC on 5th December 2024, during which they took a round of the campus and interacted with staff and officials. Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director, STEP GNDEC) addressed them about start-ups and industries and also did creative activities for students. Ms. Gurpreet Kaur (Mgmt Faculty & Programme Co-ordinator) had a productive session on taking the initiative to implement your ideas and shared Govt. courses of PMKVY 4.0. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) had a Shared professional career guidance, and also given the awareness of the latest software. Mr. Munish Sharma & Manjit Singh took them for an industrial visit after the session for awareness purposes. Students had great interaction with all the Entrepreneurs during the visit.
GNE College (B.com Entrepreneurship students), Ldh visited the STEP GNDEC on 21st August 2024, during which they took a round of the campus and interacted with staff and officials. Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director, STEP GNDEC) addressed them about start-ups and industries. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) had a productive and meaningful session about Entrepreneurship prospects, also given the awareness of the latest software. Mr. Manjit Singh took them for an industrial visit after the session for awareness. Students had great interaction with all the Entrepreneurs during the visit.
Newly admitted students of BBA visited STEP-GNDEC. They were told about the process of incubation. Students were informed about various Government schemes. They were shown the working of incubates at STEP-GNDEC.
STEP GNDEC is glad to share an exciting glimpse of the panel interview about HRM. Management students from CT University came to the campus to make a project file related to HRM interviews on 1st March 2024. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & HR Manager) gave invaluable opportunities to gain real-world insights into their fields. Here they had the good opportunity to glean firsthand insights from STEP GNE, enriching their understanding of the field.
Dr C Athwal Deputy Dean and Professor Birmingham State University Birmingham visited STEP GNDEC today. He was appreciative of the facilities being provided by STEP GNDEC to incubators. He was impressed by the work of STEP GNDEC. STEP GNDEC and Birmingham State University shall be exploring possibilities of cooperation to promote startup and incubation culture.
Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College organized a Placement Drive for Final Year CAD (DCCP, MECHANICAL, AND AUTOMOBILE) Students. A glimpse of a placement drive at STEP GNDEC. Mr. G.S Mehray (GM), Mr. Kawalbir Singh (Production Planning & Control), and Ms. Veena Sharma (HR Manager) from G.S AUTO INTERNATIONAL, DHANDARI KALAN, LUDHIANA, appreciated and encouraged all students for their careers, and selected 50+ students. The placement drive was very well Coordinated by Dr. Arvind Dhingra Sir (Executive Director STEP GNE), and Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO – STEP GNE) on 19-02-2024.
CT University, Ldh visited the STEP GNDEC on 25th January 2024, during which they took a round of the campus and interacted with staff and officials. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) delivered a productive and meaningful session about Entrepreneurship, and prospects of How to start your venture, also gave the awareness of the latest software used in the industry. Er. Bhupinder Singh (Mechanical Faculty, STEP GNDEC) gave a practical demonstration on Auto Cad & Solid works. Ms.Gurpreet Kaur (Program Coordinator & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) encouraged and motivated the students to Entrepreneurship as a career option. CT University faculty Ms. Apurva and other faculty members appreciated the state-of-the-art facilities being provided on the STEP GNDEC campus. They had great interaction with all the Industries during the visit. Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director, STEP GNDEC) supported this outreach visit.
To provide hands-on experience and enhance students skills, STEP offers a 10-day workshop program for students that include a machine shop.
