uptime gives a one line display of the following information:
$ uptime
06:00:56 up 2:15, 1 user, load average: 0.01, 0.03, 0.05
where:
06:00:56
is the current time on the systemup
is state of the system2:15
(2 hours and 15 minutes) is the total time for which the system has been up1 user
is the number of user sessions openload average: 0.01, 0.03, 0.05
is system load averages for the past 1, 5, and 15 minutes correspondigly
-p shows only the system up time in pretty format:
$ uptime -p
up 3 hours, 19 minutes
-s displays the date and time since the system has been running:
$ uptime -s
2018-05-20 03:45:55
