It likely means trading out the provider, checking provider settings, and Docker style base boxes..

I may have come across some good reference material for ramping up a custom vm for use with docker: https://github.com/oracle/vagrant-boxes/tree/master/DockerEngine

Ideas:

  • tweak a bento base box (or all of them) to add docker support
  • use that to spin up a single vbox vm to run all docker images

Benefit will be that docker images will be running centos, not mac os, or windows if that happens to be your laptop os. Also, the bootstrap scripts only work in RH and centos anyhow..
