Summary

Helix does not provide formatting for Rust-files.
Other languages work fine.

I have tried

• updating helix
• removing grammars and fetch-building them again
• reinstalling rust-analyzer

cat main.rs | rust-analyzer highlight --rainbow > main.html && firefox main.html show pretty much what would expect, so I don't think it is the culprit.

Reproduction Steps

That error message means that the highlights query you have for rust in ~/.config/helix/runtime/queries/rust/highlights.scm is incompatible with the version of the parser being used by the version of helix you have installed. Typically that happens if you copy the runtime directory instead of symlinking it to your local copy of the helix repository's runtime dir. You can try removing ~/.config/helix/runtime and re-copying or symlinking it from your local clone of helix's runtime.

I'm getting this error too. My runtime was symlinked prior to it, but I still tried your suggestion, still the same.
I tried updating the grammars and helix, it doesn't work. I'll try forcing an update on the queries or just pull them from github next.

I was able to resolve the issue by git checkout tags/24.03 and overwrite stuff in ~/.config/helix with the runtime folder in the repository.
