Goal

Enable, document, and create testing plans, suites, cases, and scenarios as needed to fully test and validate the block node system from end to end.

Intention

We intend to use a block stream simulator to fully test the block node system from data-in through data-out, including all published APIs. We intend to validate with and without persistence service, verification service, archive services, state management service, state snapshot services, content proof services (both state and block), and any other services defined for the "Hedera full service Block Node" deployment profile.

Considerations

End to End testing requires significant time and resources, and we must plan the relevant effort. We must be mindful of the balance of sufficient testing with acceptable cost.
