Describe the issue you are experiencing

Sometimes it boots, sometimes not. I/O Errors will occur sooner or later. I tried three SSDs of different Manufacturers without success.
Adding usb-storage.quirks=152d:a578 to the cmdline.txt seems to fix it

What operating system image do you use?

rpi4 (Raspberry Pi 4/400 32-bit OS)

What version of Home Assistant Operating System is installed?

14.1

Did the problem occur after upgrading the Operating System?

No

Sorry to say but ditch the USB-SATA adapter. I was using one of these and regrettably had not set-up proper backups yet and eventually just lost everything.
